Using Jetpack To Let Visitors Subscribe To Receive Notifications

You are looking to add function allow users to subscribe to receive email notification when a new article is posted on your website or someone reply their comment? Typically, these are 2 completely separate functions. However, with Jetpack plugin, you absolutely can combine 2 functions into one using Subscriptions module.

Subscriptions module has 2 main functions:

✉️ Easily allow visitors to subscribe to track all your articles by email, through a widget on your blog sidebar. Every time you post a new article, WordPress.com will automatically send an email notification to all registered subscribers.

✉️ When sending comments, your visitors can also register to track the next comments in the article.

Using Jetpack To Let Visitors Subscribe To Receive Notifications

To start using, first, you need to visit the JetpackSettings, and activate the Subscriptions module.

Next, go to the AppearanceWidgets. Drag and drop widget “Blog Subscriptions (Jetpack)” to the location where you want it displays on the sidebar. You can edit the options in the widget as you wish.

Access to SettingsReading, scroll down and find the “Follower Settings”. Here, you can customize the contents  of the confirmation email.

Access the SettingsDiscussion, check 2 options “Follow Blog” and “Follow Comments”. Below the comment box will display 2 more options.

You can also add the Subscriptions form to any page or post. To do so, just write following shortcode:

▶️ title – change the default title to your own custom text.
▶️ subscribe_text – change the default subscribe text.
▶️ subscribe_button – change the default “Subscribe” button text.
▶️ show_subscribers_total – Your total number of subscribers.

If visitors subscribe to your website by typing in email address, in few minutes they will receive a confirmation email like this:

When they click on the “Confirm Follow” button, they will receive a notification of new post via email.

You can see your subscribers by visiting JetpackSite Stats, scroll down to the bottom of the page.

After every setting, remeber to click on “Save Changes” to save.
